Application and selection process
Position
The ASTTBC Registrar is an ‘officer’ of the association with responsibilities associated with professional certification, registration and accountability. The Registrar is appointed by the ASTTBC Council and works closely with the Executive Director in carrying out ASTTBC’s mandate.
Responsibilities
The Registrar’s role is legislatively defined by the ASTT Act & Regulations. Under the ASTT Act the Registrar is legally responsible for:
- Maintaining a register of members;
- Ensuring the accuracy of the information in the register, including category of memberships;
- Issuing & annually maintaining the certificate of registration;
- Ensuring suspended or cancelled members are removed from the Register.

Application Process
- ASTTBC will respond to each application received.
- The Search Committee will review the applications and conduct the interviews. A final decision on this appointment is expected by December 15, 2011 with a start date early in 2012.
- ASTTBC offers a competitive compensation package and operates with a fairly flexible work arrangement. ASTTBC will consider an appointment which is not full time in the right circumstances.
- ASTTBC reserves the right to seek applications beyond the scope of this call for applications.

Full or Part-Time | Tele-commuting
While it has been usual for the position of Registrar to be full time, ASTTBC is prepared to consider a part-time arrangement. Limited tele-commuting is possible.

Deadline for Receipt of applications: September 31st, 2011
Review of applications: October 15th, 2011
Preliminary interviews: October 24 - 28, 2011
Second interviews: November 7 - 9, 2011
Final interviews: November 15 - 16, 2011
Proposed offer of employment: November 21st, 2011 (subject to Council ratification)
Conclude employment agreement: November 25th, 2011
Registrar starts: February 1st, 2012
