ASTTBC is proud to support our partners at the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) during National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM). Here you will find activities being held around the province as well as some great web links. We hope will take some time to look into them and maybe event participate!
NEGM is an annual celebration of engineering and geoscience across Canada. This month-long event promotes awareness of the engineering and geoscience professions, highlights career choices in these fields and reminds the public of the many ways in which engineering and geoscience touch everyday life. This year's National Engineering and Geoscience Month will be held March 2012.
Much like National Technology Week (NTW) held during November of each year to promote technology careers. NEGM features information on careers in engineering and geoscience to encourage young Canadians to consider these fields as a career of choice.

ASTTBC National Engineering Month Supplement in the Prince George Free Press
To promote National Engineering and Geoscience Month, ASTTBC led an initiative to promote the important role of technologists, technicians and technical specialists in engineering and applied science industries. The 4-page supplement which highlights members and achievements in northern BC, appears in the March 2 edition of the Prince George Free Press.

Sunshine Coast Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Contest:
What do Popsicle sticks and white glue have to do with engineering and science? They are the raw materials needed with your imagination to build a future in science and technology! The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC invite you to compete in the 2nd annual Sunshine Coast Popsicle Stick Bridge Building contest on Saturday, March 10th at the Sechelt Senior Activity Centre. The event is free and open to the general public. Valuable prizes and the coveted bragging rights that come with building the strongest bridge on the Sunshine Coast are up for grabs once again!
